Self Confidence: 3 ways to boost your positivity

Life can be a bit of a rollercoaster, right? Juggling a million things, keeping all the plates spinning – we get it.

But here's the scoop: your well-being, confidence and mental health matter, just as much as your physical health.

Here are three EASY ways to boost your self confidence

1. Daily Positive Self-Talk

We all have that inner voice, sometimes a bit of a critic. How about flipping the script? As you jump onto your Pilates mat, tell yourself how strong and capable you are. That you're doing an amazing job for prioritising your health and getting your workout in!

It’s like giving your mind a high-five before getting into those Pilates moves. Positive self-talk – because what you tell yourself, you become.

TRY THIS:

Give your inner critic a name (not someone you know). Every time you catch yourself thinking something negative, remind your inner critic (mine is Gretchen!) to get out of your head!

2. Embracing Gratitude


Imagine this: before you hit play on your Pilates session, take a second to appreciate your body. Thank those legs that carry you, your strong, powerhouse "core" and those arms that are ready for anything!

Actively showing your body gratitude during your online Pilates sessions will increase positive thought processes and switch them to repeat on autopilot. The brain is so clever and can not only create new neural pathways but also strengthen them through practise. What you think is what you project and ultimately who you become, so try to practice gratitude everyday.

TRY THIS:

Stand in front of your mirror every day and think of 3 things you're grateful for. They can be your lovely smile, the fact that you have a roof over your head or your ability to climb stairs with ease.

Gratitude and anxiety cannot co-exist
. So practicing gratitude is perfect for giving you a happiness boost!

3. Celebrate Progress, Not Perfection

Perfect is an illusion. It does not exist. Which is why we aim for progression with Pilates! Celebrate every little win – the improved stretch, the stronger glutes or abs.

Life's not about reaching some mythical destination, it's about enjoying the journey. Pilates is your personal celebration and you're winning every time you show up!

TRY THIS:

Create mini goals within your larger goals and think of ways to celebrate achieving each goal. This will spur you on, skyrocketing your confidence!
